Squealing Vacuum Breaker Checkvalve

The Checkvalve on my black tank rinser squeals rather loudly while rinsing the tank.

Is this common? Do I need to replace this or can the valve be serviced? I believe I can access it through my powder room sink cabinet.

It may be somewhat common - my city water fresh tank makes a moderate squeal whenever water is flowing. I don't like it - when I find out where it is I will replace it! I think it is a sign that it is worn or defective...

Good luck

The old plastic black tank flush vacuum break on our MADP made a loud squeal while rinsing the tank. I replaced it with a new brass vacuum break from Amazon and the squeal went away. You have to take it off to try to fix it, may as well replace it. Easy and not expensive.

I think this squeaking sound is actually a good thing, because it makes it harder for you to forget about it if you have the tank drain valve closed. I have heard of people getting distracted while performing this task and then the roof of the motorhome gets "washed"!

Using a water pressure regulator??

Some noise from that Vacuum Breaker is common and some of that noise can be from water going thru spray nozzle

The Black plastic ones are cheapest available.......brass ones are a bit better
ALL of them can fail and leak water inside RV if water pressure is too high

Aahhhhhh.....a water pressure regulator! That's probably it! I am not presently using one and the pressure it high. That's the most likely cause of the harsh squeal when using the tank rinser. I am not hearing anything when tap water is flowing, however.
