Stair rails

We have a 2018 Newmar Baystar with a mid entry. So it has a stair rail, but it is not very sturdy. Between age and arthritis it’s not helpful getting in the coach.

Has anyone replaced one of these or reinforced it?

Model 3009 maybe?

Two ways I know of to make the rail more rigid. Add a floor to ceiling post at the unattached end of the rail, or add a 90 degree turn at the open end of the rail. If turn is added it would have to be short enough not to interfere with the slide. Rail could be lengthened a bit then turned to avoid slide.

You may be able to purchase prefab railing to replace what you have. What type material and what height is the current rail? (Metal/wood, 42"?) Would cost about $500 to replace completely. If current rail is metal, a welder may be able to alter it for less than $500.
