Steelcase Captains Seats

My Steelcase Captain's seat has lost much of it's cushioning. Has anyone tried replacing the foam in their Steelcase Captains seat?

Any good upholsterer can replace your foam. Check local shops or if in Arizona check the shops near the border.

Having mine done as we speak. Classic Coach Works in Ormond Beach FL. are rebuilding both captains chairs with new closed cell foam and covering them with ultra leather. I had the same problem as you. After an hour or two I felt like the foam had completely collapsed and I was sitting on the frame of the seat.

I'll let you know how I like the new foam. I have a 10-12 hour drive home so that should be plenty long enough to test it out.

In case you were wondering, they charged $1300 each. A couple other guys got quotes of $1500 each so I'm assuming that's about the going rate for a quality job.
