Went to look at the Dutch Star again with ?????? re the axle.
Also found out there is a "DUMP SWITCH".

The salesman said you can also dump the tag.
He did not know whether the steering or the dump took preference.

If you are over 20 MPH the axle locks straight.
Under 20 you can steer.

If you pull into a park and dump the tag, what happens with
the steering if it has already started turning?

The steering is passive. You don't actually steer it, just as I'm not steering our toad as we go around a corner. The tires just track with the turn.

The "steering" and the air dump are two separate functions, not interrelated, other than they are features on the same axle.

Dumping the air will have no affect on the direction the tag axle tires are pointing and vice versa.

IMHO, I'm not overly wild that I gotta have either the steerable or passive...
I guess the passive would be nice, but dumping the tag to take the pressure off the rear is something that's not hard to do...

and if you forget to air them back up, they automatically do on ours - so guess I could just leave them 'dumped' and it would take care of itself ! (but I don't)
