Steering Stabilizers
In my research for chassis upgrades on the F53, I see some steering stabilizers that look like shock absorbers. Do they help, any problems like harder or jerky steering? Does anyone have them installed? I'd like to hear your comments.
Thanks again.

I have had them on some coach's but I found a rear torque bar more responsible.
Must people put them because of possible blow out front tires.
Never had a blow out on 6 coach's use proper tire pressures.

I did the CHF and added a Safe T Plus stabilizer to my F53. I've been very pleased with the stability both offer.
The Safe T Plus saved us at least once this year when an oncoming driver swerved into our lane head on. Absent the stabilizer I would have lost the rig on the soft shoulder when we ran off the road. It provided a smooth return to the roadway.
I notice NO jerky or erratic steering
I swear by mine!

I have the one made by Blue Ox and it does not make steering jerky at all. I do not know it is there until I have a strong crosswind and adjust it so I can hold the steering wheel straight.

I added a Roadmaster steering stabilizer to a 2017 F53 chassis and saw improvement in wandering, drivability and getting blown around. However, it took adding Roadmaster front and rear sway bars to truly get it driving as it should be. I had done the CHF and while it helped, it was nowhere as effective as the expensive upgraded swaybar fix.

It's pricey but I will always have a blue ox trucenter. I love the on-the-fly adjustment for road conditions to keep the rig stay effortlessly straight . You could get comfort steer in a Newmar, or really high priced coaches if you want.

Well check this out. My friend and I crawled underneath to check things out and found that the rear sway bar bracket or whatever it's called, that holds the rubber goody and bar to the rear end, was BROKE. So I went to Ford they just happen to have one there. So I'm going to put that on today, take it for a ride and will probably notice a big difference
Hey thanks to all for your suggestions. Most likely I will add some stabilizing goodies on soon.
Have a Great day.

I added a Roadmaster steering stabilizer mostly for the protection they offer if you ever have a blown front tire. They will help from having the steering wheel jerked out of your hands. They are suppose to help maintain control. Thank God I can't tell you if they really help or not. This is the video that got me to thinking about blown tires.

Everyone's seen that video - its scary.
But we don't know whether or not that MH had a steering stabilizer. Maybe he had a Roadmaster or BlueOx or Stafe-T-Plus installed, but the guy's tire got into something (mud/hole/debris) while driving through the median - and nothing could have prevented that rollover.
That video is the biggest seller of Steering Stabilizers and Tyron bands.

Update:
I put on the new clamp, bracket, whatever it's called and took a ride. It still sways but it doesn't hang out there for a bit like it used to which causes one to steer more than should. So I am happy I fixed that. I don't have to fight it as much. Later on I will add some more stabilizing of some sort, but I am going to buy a steering stabilizer right off.
Thanks for the help.

One more question. I have seen two or three different brands of steering stabilizers ranging in price from $2 hundred something to $three hundred something. Is one any better than the other and, what to look for, for a good one?
Thank you.

Freightliner stabilizer
I've been researching as well and trying to determine if a stabilizer would be a good idea for my 2007 fleetwood with a freightliner chassis. I'm new so don't know if I did this properly. If not go easy.
