Storage Locks on 2001 Fleetwood Expedition

Hey Guys,

Are there any better solutions to the crappy plastic storage latches on an old 2001 Fleetwood Expedition? I can't ever get both locks to reach the U-bracket on the frame.

pic of U-bracket. Open to any better, more reliable solutions.

I don't know if this would help, but after all these years of struggling with getting latches to work, I discovered that if you push on the bay lid near the bottom, the latches open much easier. I have found this really helpful in cold weather.

Thank you, yes, I do realize that. Locks and latches are crap, U-bracket too short no matter how I adjust the sliding doors. I'm only able to lock one side at a time with all cabinets.

I forgot to add attachments. ANYTHING better than these crap locks and U-brackets? Longer/wider U-brackets available from SOMEHWHERE that has more adjustment, slotted hole, etc? I found locks on amazon but looks like they also have the junk plastic sliding deadlock thing that wear and break over time.
