I am storing my RV in an aircraft hanger between trips (1-2 months) which has a concrete floor. Question is, would it be best to raise it up on the jacks rather than sitting with all the weight on the tires for a fairly short duration? I have noticed the tires run a little rough for the first few miles before smoothing out. Don't know if that has any long term effect on the tire or if it is harmless.

Old timers way of thinking with the days of old tires , with todays rubber and tires... I would not worry about it. When I put mine up for the winter in my garage I just run the jacks down till they hit the cement floor and give them a bit more and walk away. I mainly put the jacks down cause we go camping (In garage)a couple of time over the winter to get away and break the boredom of the winter.

But, isn't concrete itself bad for Rubber? Probably wouldn't hurt to put some plywood under the tires.

It will not effect the tire's in the time frame of only 1-2 months, mine sits for 6-7 months and our excavating equipment has sat every winter for decade's with no wood under the tires. Some worry and take what they have to do with a RV to a extreme extent , maybe the manual........... ("The Bible") will have a paragraph or section in it about your question of putting plywood under the tires?

The best thing to say, if you have thought about it and asked question's about it, just go ahead and do it just to put your mind to rest

I always like the question, "Do I store it outside or "pay" for indoor storage"?????

Just put some plywood or rubber matting under the 4 tires to lift them off the concrete. No sweat!

Jacks down...that's what they are for...and wood under the tires.

Some tire websites say tires sitting with weight on them cause the sidewall to take on a "set" which creates a weak point in the sidewall. HWH(I'm told) says it will not harm the jacks to store the RV on jacks. That pretty much eliminates any reason not to store the RV on jacks.

Years ago when we had no jacks you just parked it and nobody ever put wood under their tires. What if you parked your toad along side for the same amount of time what would you do then. ?? Mine is stored in a garage with concrete floor and I just touch the jacks to prevent movement because it gets used for a guest bedroom . I have never put anything under the tires.
