Storing your MH between trips.
We plan to travel for 30-45 days at a time multiple times a year, spending a lot of time in the west, but live in Florida. For others that do this, have you stored your MH out west between trips, or always make the trip home and then start over?
If you have done this, what, if any issues have you had storing away from home.

We also live in Florida and do the same thing. We have done both. I personally prefer to just make the drive and pick a spot or two to visit and explore on the trip out and back. If you leave your rig somewhere it really does not save that much time in the long run because when you got back you need to check everything over, do any minor repairs and provision. That is providing you are planning to travel and explore rather than just sit in the same spot during your trip. To us We RV because we like the journey not just the destination. The drive for us is part of the journey.
Best of luck,

Personally, I think if I were to do that, I would want it stored inside in a climate that controlled facility, if it's in a hot area like Arizona. I think a lot depends on your finances. Inside storage, which you would have to pay year round to keep, air fare, repair time before or after each trip, etc, could get pricey. On the other hand, it could a lot of extra mileage on the coach each year.

I would drive, that is part of the fun of RVing. To store it is not really good for the coach, tires and the chassis. These coaches are designed to be driven, not stored.

That is our retirement plan. Drive for 2-3 months, go home or travel internationally then rinse repeat. Each time find a place to leave the coach with power and enjoy somewhere else for a while. Just starting this process of research so I'll watch this thread with interest.

One other thing to consider if you are planning to leave your motorhome unattended for over 30 days is insurance. Most policies are rated based on where you garage your unit. They also have some limitations on coverage for vacant units not stored at home location. I am not saying this is an insurmountable issue, just read the fine print as it can bite you!

We would plan on storing it in a location that is perferably indoor and connected, probably with a RV dealer that could maintain items necessary. This would not be the 100% of the time plan, but was actually suggested as an idea by the owner of an RV dealership with lots of nationwide connections.

I have a garage at my house that I keep my coach in. We use it at least monthly for rallies or just local trips. I would drive it back and forth. If you really need to store it, check out NIRVC in Phoenix. Storage is their specialty.
