I'm just so frustrated. I love this motorhome, and I never had a significant issue with it before this air problem started on our way to Florida. At least I have it at home now, where I can work on it myself, but I don't know what to try next.

Oil out the drier sounds like it could be the compressor.

Like you said, it could have been the wrong drier as some need to keep a small amount of air pressure on the intake side to stop the compressor from pumping oil.

We used to do a "2 minute" test of the truck compressors by taking the discharge line off the compressor. Run the engine at 1200 RPM with a clean white paper 2 inches from the outlet. If there was oil spatter outside of a 4 inch circle, the compressor got changed. This was on Peterbilt trucks, so may not apply to yours exactly, but something to try.

Best news is it's at home. Hopefully you can take all the time needed to make it right.
Your dryer should have a turbo cut out valve.... here's description from the internet:
"The primary function of the turbo cut-off valve is to prevent loss of engine turbocharger air pressure through the air dryer in systems where the compressor intake is conne- cted to the engine turbocharger"

Only way oil can get into air system is from compressor. So.....hows it getting into compressor?
Just like posted above, remove the line from compressor to dryer, check for oil....

Is engine using any oil? There's a metal pipe from compressor to intake manifold. You'll need to prop rear bed up to see it. A short piece of silicone hose (I think it's 3/4" in diameter) connects pipe to intake port on cylinder head. You'll want to make sure it's not got oil in it....but it may be easier to remove a CAC hose at turbo and check for oil.
You could have turbocharger leaking oil into air intake....the key is to be sure where the oil is getting into the air dryer.

Don't give up! These are solid well built coaches and what ever you replace it with, you'll probably have to go through much of of it as well!

Keep us posted.

Thank you guys once again for the moral support. I'll try the testing you have suggested.

I never had any issues with fluid leaks of any kind prior to the new compressor install that was done by Freightliner in Georgia. My fear is that the new compressor is bad, and the local Freightliner dealer is not any help.

Well I checked everything I could and finally decided to take it to the local Freightliner shop and showed them the receipts for the work that had been done.

They called me this afternoon and told me that the compressor that was installed in Georgia is defective. They are going to replace it at no charge to me.

You sir have found a caring repair shop. As a retired repair shop owner myself I am pleased to hear there are still others out there who will step up and help someone else out. Freightliner needs to know they have a quality dealer once the repairs have been satisfactorily completed.
Don't for one second think I don't admire your tenacity and patience.
I'm sure I'm not the only one on this board who has their fingers crossed hoping this works out for you.

That's a buzz killer.....the local dealer will be able to file warranty though Freightliner, should be no out of pocket $$...
I'm curious on why it failed.

Only two places where oil can get into the dryer:

Compressor. Agree, three bad compressors is unlikely.

"Clean" side of turbo. So pull the hose to compressor off the intake manifold and see if there is oil in it. Alternately, pull the boot off the turbo to CAC and check it for oil.

I just went out there and disconnected the hose where the compressor input attaches to the intake manifold. One of the hose clamps was not tight, with no sign of having been handled. The hose itself was firmly stuck to the metal pipe.

When I pulled it apart, the intake port, hose, and the compressor pipe were all perfectly clean inside. No residue of any kind.

Somehow in trying to correct a typo, I accidentally deleted my post from earlier today.

After waiting for a month to get my motorhome back from the local Freightliner dealer, it came back to me with another new compressor and new, correct air dryer,
but it is still purging oil from the air dryer.

Roland, remove the stainless flex hose from dryer and see if any oil is in it ...
