I didn't see a picture of the slurry you mentioned but I can tell you that is most likely imusified oil and water mix. Where's the water coming from? Maybe from the air compressed, Maybe. Where's the oil coming from? Man, that's still a question. You have been through hell with this deal.
Should be almost no oil and most of the water ought to be neatly cared for in the dryer.
Have you drained all your air tanks and if so are you getting anything from them?

Discharge, not Intake? Air compression concentrates water.

Yes, I checked all of the air tanks and fortunately they are all free of any oil or water.
That has been my biggest worry, trying to keep the oil from migrating past the dryers (5 of them, and 4 of the 5 were complete new units) since all of this began in January

This has been so frustrating. I take a lot if pride in this old motorhome. It is not a beat up old clunker. It only has 45,000 miles on it.
I took this picture 5 minutes ago, and I have not had a chance to wash it since returning from our trip last week in the rain.

Like others have said, downhill to the dryer to prevent freeze up in cold weather. Have you ever drained an air compressor tank? Not just water comes out, dirt and other contaminants mix with the moisture. Purge valve on my truck always has a bit of goo on it. Have fun your over thinking this.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before. You need to find a truckers forum. Those guys will know and probably be glad to help. We’re just a bunch of amateurs. They’re the pros.

I agree with Mackwrench. I worked on trucks for 40 years, but the problem is it’s difficult to troubleshoot something without actually seeing it. Especially with other people working on it and not knowing how good of a job they have done.
Lots of variables to look at.
Hopefully someone on another forum will have had a similar problem and have a simple fix.

Maybe the answer is the obvious
Other than the “too long” hose which really needs to be fixed you now have one major problem. Too much oil coming out of the compressor. Without all the rest of the history what would we think?
We’d think the compressor was faulty in some way.
Already had one or two faulty units.
What are the odds unless the manufacture built a bad lot.

Compressors can pump oil if the intake is restricted. I have not seen a turbocharged diesel engine that didn't have the compressor intake pressurized, meaning fed air from the intake manifold for many years. So that's a question I guess should be asked. Where is the compressor getting it's air from? Is the intake restricted? Has the engine been run at idle for extended periods of time? (No boost) Are the rings letting oil past because the oil is not draining from the compressor back into the engine crankcase?
So you see there are many reasons that a compressor will pump oil, and all have to be looked at. After 3 compressors, I suspect there's some other reason for the oil. I find it hard to believe you got that many bad compressors in a row.
