We’d think the compressor was faulty in some way.
Already had one or two faulty units.
What are the odds unless the manufacture built a bad lot.

294 posts and counting. OP probably put up 10% of them. That's a lot of history!

Does anyone know how I might contact the gentleman in this video?
https://youtu.be/LjWQStJxXf8
He is discussing the style of compressor that I have, and all of this oil trouble started when one of the mechanics installed the wrong type of dryer, which lacked the "econ
valve" he mentions here.
I have since installed a compatible dryer, as verified by Haldex support.
The most frustrating thing about this is that this problem didn't exist before these mechanics worked on it. The original problem was low air pressure. This oil issue began after first new compressor and air dryer install.

Hi Roland-
A search for "Fleet Products Ltd" (name of the YooToob channel) finds a truck parts business in Tampa, FL.
There is a reply to the first comment which includes a toll free phone number. You might start there. Unfortunately we don't have the narrator's name to ask for...

I'll try calling there tomorrow.
This afternoon I called Haldex support for the 2nd time and asked if it is possible that the unit I installed, based upon their own application chart, could be incorrect.
He said yes! So now I am even more confused.
I sent them a detailed email with a photo of the installation, showing the part number and the oil puddle, to check into this further.

The air dryer manufacturer states the minimum hose length between the compressor and dryer. About 9'-13'.
This is to help cool the very hot air coming out of the compressor, before it reaches the dryer.
No point in sending very hot air thru the dryer, only to have it condense in the cool air tanks!!
These chassis manufacturers didn't add 6 or8' of extra airline for no reason!

I watched that youtube video and that fellow certainly knows his stuff.
Is there any way you can find out exactly what compressor was installed on your rig at the factory and which dryer was installed?
I would never have thought of the problem the fleet products guy discussed. You could have the wrong dryer or it could just be plumbed incorrectly.
My heart breaks for you having all this trouble and most of it seems to be from the professional help you've paid for.

No response yet from my inquiries at Haldex and American Coach.
Leaving for West Virginia tomorrow. I decided to protect the system with a new dessicant cartridge before each trip until I get this resolved.

This morning I received a response from Haldex support. The gentleman indicated that the kink in the discharge line from the compressor is probably causing the compressor head to overheat, resulting in the compressor passing oil into the dryer.
We are on a trip now, continuing to have the oil issue. When we return home next week I will attempt to replace that line myself.
I just hope that I have not ruined another compressor, running it in this condition.

The line has a Teflon liner, you may be able to take a pair of pliers and gently squeeze it to round it back up some... I'm in North Carolina and my coach is in Florida but this weekend I'll measure my line length and get that info to you....

I tried carefully pinching it back before we left. It was not a tight kink, but I suppose it may impact the airflow. I think I improved it, but I am still purging oil. Everything else is running fine, as usual. Gauges all look good, running cool, good oil pressure, good air pressure, 7.3mpg.
Thanks for the input.
Regards

When you had the compressor replaced did the put on a new one or a rebuilt? I’ve replaced with rebuilt that pumped oil. Always replace with a new compressor

You might consider Spartanrvchassis.com I have had good luck getting the correct part in a timely manner. Email them your VIN and describe the part your seeking. Usually get same day response with part number and price.
