Nearly Indelible Yellow Circle On Camper From Suction Cup

I put together a Ubiquity Wi-Fi repeater that I mounted on the side of my light gray camper using black rubber suction cups intended for lifting glass. After only 2 days (parked in shade) when I removed the cups, I was horrified to find an ugly yellow circle had developed under one of them. I tried multiple cleaners and polishes and could not remove it. I finally tried my husband's Zymol Cleaner Wax which lightened it but still did not remove it. I then tried mixing a few drops of rubbing alcohol into the cleaner wax on the rag and finally almost completely removed the mark (if you know where to look, from a certain angle a little bit of the circle is still faintly visible). I immediately and thoroughly rinsed the spot after using the alcohol mixture.I googled Zymol Cleaner Wax, and as of now it is still available from multiple sources including Walmart and Amazon.

I know this thread is old, but I wanted to share my "remedy" in case it could help H. Miller or anyone else who has experienced this yellow circle horror! I recommend trying just a tiny spot at first to make sure it doesn't create a new problem with your camper's finish. My 5th wheel camper is a 2012 model with the same modern glossy finish I see on most RV's and 5th wheel campers being built now. I think the rubber of the suction cup had a chemical reaction with the fiberglass finish because this indelible yellowing looks and behaves much like the yellowing of light colored vinyl flooring where a latex backed rug has been.

Type "Suction Cup on Fiberglass" in the green box above and search.

Many replies to this question that has been asked before.

I bought the suction cup mounts for the genturi I have and when I used them, they left circles on the gelcoat.
I have a drivers door and grab rail that I will make something that spans the mirror to the grab rail and I will connect into that, going forward. A member here suggested it and it is a good idea.
