A few choices here. If you're traveling in cold weather, I-8 to I-10 to Baton Rouge, LA then up I-110/US 61 to Natchez. The Natchez Trace up to Mississippi 25 near Tishomingo, MS then MS 25 to Red Bay will keep you out of the snow/ice or cold. You can also use I-20 to Dallas, I 30 to Memphis then US 78 or US 72 to NW Alabama and local roads to Red Bay. Much colder and more chance of ice but probably faster. The Natchez Trace Parkway is unique and if you've never traveled it is a great run. 50 MPH and not a stop on it, but it is only 2 lanes. Beautiful scenery and NO TRUCKS ALLOWED, but campers and Class A's OK.
