Suggestions for Camp Verde / Sedona
We are thinking of spending the month of March in Camp Verde / Sedona area.
most likely will camp by Camp Verde cause of the lower elevation.
March is about as late in the spring that we can go, just wondering about what to expect weather wise.
Also open to suggestions of what to see and do in the area.
We will be camping in a 44' Class A

Jerome, Prescott, Dewey, Cordes Junction and back to Camp Verde is a nice day trip. Be sure to stop and walk around Jerome and maybe have coffee or lunch in one of the outdoor cafe's.
Happy Glamping.

If you don't already have a spot, I recommend Zane Gray RV park just on the outskirts of Camp Verde. It's one of the nicest parks we have stayed in with perfectly level manicured (crushed granite) sites and plenty of trees. It's right on a creek, so there is also wildlife occasionally.
As mentioned, Montezuma's Castle, Sedona (about 25 miles away) and definitely Jerome. A day trip south toward Phoenix down I17 will put you in the Saguaro Cactus areas.

You don't need to be afraid of Sedona in March. It is perfect Spring weather then, typically. Personally I would rather stay in Sedona than Camp Verde. I'd even choose Cottonwood over Camp Verde if you didn't want Sedona. Rancho Sedona is the CG to stay at, although it is pricey and can be hard to get reservations. If you do stay in Camp Verde be sure to eat at Moscado. It is a great Italian place. In Sedona there are many good restaurants.

We stayed at the thousand trails park in Cottonwood. We liked it. Check out Clarkdale near Sedona. The state parks in the area. Easy drive to the Grand Canyon. FLagstaff is neat. The Verde valley railroad trip from Cottonwood was well worth seeing.

Prescott
Do not forget to go to Prescott and take the road to Cherry if you have a jeep or a truck. It is off of 260 near Out of Africa then come back via Jerome. Very good scenery. You can yell at me later after you take it. Prescott has a Sams and Costco. Watch out for the cops they look for out of state license for parking tickets near downtown.
