Even though I haven't had Sumitomos on a motorhome, I'm a big fan of Sumitomo in general ...along with the two other big Japan-based tire manufacturers, Toyo and Yokohama.

The Sumitomo conglomerate is a huge Japanese company and its roots can be traced back for centuries (over 400 years) ...from what I remember reading, it originated the 1600s as a bookshop. Sumitomo himself was a Buddhist monk. But the "modern" company has been around since the early 1900s, still for over a century.

The Sumitomo ST718 is an excellent tire and has very good reviews if researching them online ...and here on iRV2 as there are quite a few threads and posts here with generally excellent reviews ...go HERE for Google search results for the ST718 on iRV2.

Many of the Sumitomo commercial truck tires are now being made at their U.S. subsidiary just outside of Buffalo NY. I'm not sure if the ST718 is being manufactured there yet or not but from what I hear, they are slowly shifting more of their commercial truck tire manufacturing to the Tonawanda New York plant. Originally, the ST718 were being made in Japan --a good thing.

That looks like a good price that you have in your link. That size also comes in a load range G with a 14-ply rating but if the OEM ones you're replacing are load range F, then the ones in your link should be adequate.

eta: ...the usual cautionary advice applies so be sure to contact Tire Deals Xpress to discuss the requirement of getting tires with recent date codes. I'm not sure but I believe they operate out of Michigan.

Question. If the coach came with Goodyear F load tires and they lasted 7 years and 35k miles, why would I want to move up to a G or H load? Wouldn't the higher the load rating the stiffer the ride? I see a lot of people running G's or higher on their 22k F53 chassis

I have 4 Sumitomo on the back of my Winnebago Adventurer 37G on a workhorse chassis size 245/7019.5. Mine are load range G which is what the tag on the door says. I have had them for about a year and they ride good and no issues. I have put about 3000 miles on them.

Just replaced all 6 Michelin XRV's with Sumitomo 719/22.5 @ 110 psi. and very impressed. Sumitomo's seem to have a much softer rubber compound even at higher tire pressures.

Softer ride than the Michelin's @ 90 PSI, just quality rubber made in Japan, as it's always been.

1000 miles so far,

The Michelin's have a fatter sidewall and a skinny tread, the Sumitomo's have a more squared off matched tread to sidewall.

I've decided to go with Hankook AH35 245/70R19.5 H/16PR. Now just price shopping them locally. motorhomestires.com quoted me $2700 for all 6 mounted, balanced and installed at my location.
