Sunshade augmentation - desire lower than preset limit

My '16 Fleetwood Bounder has a powered sunshade/sunvisor. SUnshade works OK but wish I could adjust the height more like adjusting a sunvisor in a car. The sunshade stop (when engine is running) is too high for my liking. Driving into the early morning or late evening sun is a challenge for me.

I am considering having the windshield tinted to about 4 or 5 inches below the sunshade stop. The other alternative I have thought about is attaching a tinted vinyl strip to the bottom of the sunshade - just not sure how to attach the vinyl strip. Tinted, translucent vinyl as used for some pleasure boat enclosures. I still need to be able to see thru the tint for low obstructions up close and the random traffic signal that is not well placed.

How have you dealt with this issue? Maybe there is already a solution out there that I am not aware of. I have set the sunshade lower than the legal stop before starting the engine - but if I need to raise it momentarily, I am unable to lower it again without shutting of the engine. BTW, easy answer of "don't drive early or late in the day" does not count.

You didn't identify the make of your shades, but if they are MCD, the adjustment procedure is pretty easy. Look at page 6 of the manual below http://mcdinnovations.com/files/Ownersmanual031318.pdf

Thank you for replying. I had not considered lowering the shade drive limit - never even considered that that might be a possibility.

I can not find any reference to MCD, nor does the shade have the green "bulb" on the motor end (does have a black bulb). I'll contact Fleetwood and see if I can get information on adjusting the stops. Easier to adjust the stop than to add a translucent sun shade to the bottom of the black out shade.

We have a powered night shade and just lower it a few inches when needed to block the sun. I don't know if this is possible for you to do. Ours works while driving or stationary.

"aribert".....If it's an MCD, it may have too small pushbuttons on the driver's side end. They will be hanging from some short wires. That's what you use to adjust the height.

A temporary solution is to set the sun shade where you want it before starting the coach. You can always raise it, just can't lower it when driving.

Wwdnet I can lower the power shade but only to a preset limit/stop when the key is on. I would like the shade to be able to go down 5 or 6 inches more (or have a translucent strip at the bottom of the sunshade - I just have not figured out how to attach a translucent strip to the shade and not make permanent holes in the bottom of the sunshade).

Dutch Star Don "A temporary solution is to set the sun shade where you want it before starting the coach. You can always raise it, just can't lower it when driving." I have done this and it worked good until I needed to see something up close and high.
