We didn't have one...... but, it was on my list of things to get..... OOPS, we went to a Rally and they had these terminals where 2-3 or 4 MH hooked. everythng was fine..... Well, not exactley true. when we got to the next campground we had several problems. Refig wouldn't work, some electrical problem. Oh, did I mention we had to replace the Microwave too. and the element in the hot water heater too had to be replaced. Se bought a Progressive 50 AMP portable, Made a pigtail up so it stays in the electrical service by except when I;m testing a new site post. Only needed it once, but didn't have. Cosgt me over 1,000 bucks. dumb...dumb and dumber! Wouldn't leave home without it now. good rving ed

On one of our first camp outs with our first Class A we were at Georgia Veteran's State Park. They had just updated the camping area we were in. A family with a brand new Class A motor home pulled into a site across from us and when he plugged in it fried all of the electrical equipment in the coach. I purchased a surge guard before our next trip.

While our 5th wheel had a surge protector, we did not have protection against low/high voltage, reverse polarity or open neutrals. The problem was not park power but an open neutral in our power cord. After replacing or repairing our TV, microwave, refrig and vacuum cleaner, I installed a Progressive Industries 50 hard wire unit.

We had it moved to our new motorhome as part of the deal. I luv it for the peace of mind.

I have 2 surge protectors. The one I installed and the one Navistar installed on a relay recall. deSanford Double peace of mind.
