I purchased a 50 amp Surge Guard first and started having issues when using a 30 amp adapter. Purchased a 50 amp Progressive Industries and it's worked flawlessly for over a year. I like the display better on the PI as it has more information.

The Progressive Industries HW50C is probably the best choice. It give you fault protection and a remote display, plus a lifetime warranty.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I highly recommend the Progressive Industries EMS series, either the HW50C hardwired or the PT50X portable. They protect you against everything, not just surges, and have a lifetime warranty! It will be the best $350 you will ever spend!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Progressive Industries would be my choice.

Are you sure your coach doesn't already have a surge protection installed? You didn't give much in the way of details as to what kind of coach you have. 40' DP covers a wide scale of coaches from low end to high end.

I just bought a PT50X about 2 months ago... $425 was the best I could find.
But I agree it was money well spent.

I have the PT50X also. It's saved me from low voltage twice. My camping neighbor had one melted down by a surge. They replaced it with a new one on warranty.
The cheaper ones don't fully protect you.

Ditto on the portable Progressive positive comments. Had mine for several years now and it works great --

x? on Progressive Industries EMS 50 amp. Has prevented me from connecting to a post with an open ground. After you plug it in to the post, it will not connect power to your coach until it has gone through its routine to make sure everything (and I mean everything) electrical passes muster. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish - spend the bucks for this. You have thousands of $ of appliances and entertainment systems at risk.

I picked this one Progressive Industries EMSLCHW50 Surge Protector up from Amazon for $285 and installed last week. Sounded like the best option and pricing. Straight forward install.

Progressive Industries. I Asked the same question about 6 months ago. Not one bit sorry I bought one. It already paid for itself

Bought Progressive Industry EMSBT50C in 2015 after cheaper type failed. This one had an error default message this summer. Has lifetime guaranty. They sent me a new one right away and told me to trash the bad one. Awesome service and protector
