Taking what I can get!

Taking what I can get! Because we are not yet fully retired, we get random opportunities to flee South during the winter. So far we have only found random cancelations for campsites for our 43 footers South of Tampa! I just call and call again until we find something as most campsites are booked for the winter.

My grandparents always headed out of Oregon right after labor day and headed to AZ for the winter, they were lucky to be part of good sam, otherwise they said come that time of year, every RV park will fill up by end of september

How did membership in Good Sam help get sites in full parks?

It all comes down to how far south is south enough, Texas and Florida both suffer from this when it comes to snowbirds, everyone wants a site as far south as they can get, though if you were to look a hundred or so miles further north up the coast the chance of finding something vacant goes way up. Even the upper gulf coast can be nice about 7 out of 10 days throughout the entire winter with highs in the 70's and 80's much of the time most years, as long as you stay within a few miles of the coast.

True! the panhandle has the best shoulder weather in Florida.
I self identify as an iguana, as such I want to be South of Clearwater on the West coast in January and February.
