Tecma toilet problem
My electric Tecma toilet with macerator permits a small amount of paper to back flow into the bowl. The flush also doesntvseemnto be as strong or of the same duration as the second toilet in the coach. What do I need to repair or replace?

Does this happen regardless which water level you select? Also, it "MAY" be due to a low water pressure condition because I believe the "fill" is a TIMED event and not a water level controlled event. Can you check for flow restrictions and water pressure?

You could adjust the water level from the underside of the control panel but discovering "why" is your first priority.

Establishing a proper water level is not a problem. The problem is that both the full and low flush burp a small amount of material back into the bowl.

You may have to remove the toilet, not a hard job, clean the macerator blades. Turn upside down once removed and the maserator is mounted in the bottom of the toilet.

Just completed work on the tecma and think I have the problem licked. Once I disconnected the discharge tubes I noticed a lot of corrosion (mineral buildup) around the base of the back flow valve. I think it may have been preventing it from sealing. Once cleaned up it now flushes paper completely......no more back flow. Did not have the energy to take the macerator apart but will if the problem reoccurs. By the way, you can't just buy the replacement valve...you have to purchase the complete discharge hose with fittings and valve included for $83!!!!!

May also be a good idea to clean you water system. Some use white vinegar and run all faucets until you smell the vinegar.. Let stand for a few hours.. Then rense good. Happy camping.

I am new to the Tecma toilet so want to understand its function and know how to troubleshoot when necessary. What/where are the 'discharge tube/s'? Do you have to remove the toilet from the floor to access them?
Also, DW wants a new/better/more comfortable toilet seat but from looking at mine, it appears I may need to remove the toilet to R&R the seat. Also, will standard residential toilet seats fit?

discharge tube is the tall vertical rubber tube directly behind the toilet. As it heads to the floor it joins with a rubber sleeve that allows it to connect to the hard black plastic sewer pipe. The valve is in the top side of the rubber sleeve and it is usually accessible without removing the toilet.
Not sure about the answer s to your other questions but IMHO a residential toilet will not work.
Good luck.
