Temperature Sensor Alarms Frequetly

Have a 2005 Holiday Rambler Neptune 36PDQ, 300 Cummins, w/ Allison 2500 5 spd. Experience temperature sensor alarm during normal driving (45 to 65 mph), rolling hills. (Pulling a 20' enclosed trailer) Had MHC Service center change out thermostat, replaced coolant (red), and blew out air radiators. Very little change in condition.
Am I missing something? Is there a reset on the sensor/alarm sensor?

Thank you

I bought a new 2005 Monaco Diplomat. On the 250-mile drive home, every time I started to pull a small to medium grade, I would hear a temp alarm that started off slow/low and then got louder. None of the gauges were showing an issue and the Cummins computer didn't derate or show an issue.

I pulled over and called Monaco. At that time, they were adding a secondary temp sensor that was under the dash cover. It was black and about 4" x 1" and fairly flat. They told me to simply disconnect it. I never had another issue.

You need to check gauges and find out if you're actually getting hot or just a faulty alarm.

Yup, you need to verify if actual overheating or gauge issue!

Yes, I have the sensor under the dash; which starts as a slow chirp and continues to a loud high pitched beep (very annoying). The temperature. Guage starts around the 200 mark. At about two needle widths from there it starts chirping, then the needle goes to about half to two-thirds to 250. Before I had the thermostat & coolant changed, on three occasions I got a "check engine" light; pulled over and let it cool down and continued. Have not experienced this since work was performed.

So, the alarm sensor can be disconnected without shutting anything down?

Thank you for responding. I will call the Holiday Rambler service center, if they answer, will ask them the question.

Just disconnect that sensor under the dash, it's useless and annoying. You may want to buy a Bluefire unit that monitors everything the Cummins computer sees.
