Most places that have this policy will accept a recent photo for review to make sure it's not a Partridge Family bus. I have run into a couple that have a strict age cutoff, which I can't imagine owning an 11 year Newell or Prevost and being told to go away.

My coach is now 13 years old and I keep it waxed and clean. I have had several people tell me that it looks new. But in reality, the paint scheme is dated since it's blue and white. However, it appears some manufacturers are now getting away from the black/brown/gold colors so who knows, my paint may be back in vogue in a few years.

I have never had an issue with those parks that will accept photos.

I was turned down by Coyote Valley RV Resort in San Jose, Ca. because of the vintage of my rig.

I sent them a picture, from an RV Park who had the same rules. In the picture were my rig and another CC Magna that was a 2005.

I asked if they would deny both rigs from entry.

The response shifted to having me provide an Electrician's report stating that my rig would not harm their electrical system.

I asked which Electrician they would recommend for the report.

No Answer came forth.......

I guess I was not wanted.

Is there a listing of parks and resorts that have turned folks away just due to the age of the rig? I’d love to have a list so as not to waste our time... or theirs. A business model like that caters to the 1%, and we really don’t care about trying to fit into that crowd.

We have pride in ownership and will endeavour to make our rig the cleanest, nicest looking 2001 on the road. While we realize that not everyone has pride of ownership, probably a very small %, we also realize that idiots, party groups and the truly inconsiderate can afford to rent or buy newer rigs. But that’s not to say people with newer rigs are any of those, we judge people by how they behave.

We’d rather have a friendly couple in an older, nicely taken care of rig beside us than the aforementioned undesirables in a newer rig.

But that’s just us.

Seems to mostly be a California thing, maybe that's why I've not encountered it, I've not gone there in our RV.

Never been turned away but never really go for the carriage trade parks either. Asked once in Tucson and told them we were a fully restored 40 yr old TT. They said drive up and we'll see. They let us in but 2 spots down was a decrepit 5th with a broken window as a preeminent resident.

Just got asked yesterday by a park in Los Angeles. Same story, emailed pics, got in. Only going there as it is our only real option for what we want to do.

Ive seen this along the Oregon coast too at various campgrounds & even some casinos.

Although I have never gotten a hard no from any of them as long as your rig looks clean.

We have never been asked or turned away. I did see the 10 year age limit on the website of one park in Las Vegas NV.

I've been asked a few times the age of my RV's but since I've never had one over ten years old the possibility of being denied entry has never surfaced.

Frankly, I'm glad they try to weed out the old heaps. When I go on vacation I don't want to camp in a place where the RV's make it look like a dump.

It's not the age of the RV, but the owner's maintenance. I've seen many nicely kept up old RVs. In the case of yachts, I actually prefer the appearance of a grand old wooden boat over the new plastic and fiberglass ones.

I've also known some great folks that can't afford to worry about their RV appearance, they're having too much fun to keep washing and waxing it. They can probably fix anything wrong in their old 'dump' so I don't look down my nose at them.

Im suprised at this day & age that RV parks can get away with "coach discrimination".

The irony would be to "boon dock" right outside the campground...lol

Legally there is no such thing. Their property, their choice.
