Last trip out the Suburban 10 gal water heater would only get the water up to "warm" and usually it is MEGAHOT!

Any ideas where I need to start checking?

Since you've been at this for so long, this may be a no-brainer, but make sure your outside shower valves are turned off. If not, they act as a source to dilute your hot water by directly connecting it to the cold water.

No, not a no-brainer.....I didn't know this was possible...I did leve my shower taps open

About once a year we leave the inside shower or outside shower valves open with the flow control off. It usually takes a few minutes of chasing round and diagnostics to figure out that we have done it again.

If it is not the heating element and it is not losing b.t.u.'s in the travel lenght, some where, some place, cold water has to be mixing with the hot. Double, triple check all those locations. That is what I bough one of those laser thermometers from Harbor Freight for.
