Bob, you won't have enough space as it sits, you'll have to move it out a few inches, depending on the lift you get. There were only six lag bolts holding my sofa to the floor so that part was really easy. The hardest part was getting cables from the TV switching box in the right overhead cabinet back to the new TV location which was in a slide-out. I had to go across behind the overhead cabinets, down the post beside the windshield on the driver's side, under the coach to the rear end of the slide-in, through a pipe with other wires that slides in and out with the slide-out, up through the floor of the slide-out into some cabinets, across under the cabinets, and finally to the new TV location! WHEW!
I also had to move my surround sound center-channel speaker from under the old TV overhead cabinet to the new location and change the hookups on the other speakers to get the right configuration for the new TV position.
It was a lot of trouble and considerable expense, but when I lay back in my recliner, push the little button and watch the TV move up to the preset position, turn on the surround sound and enjoy a good movie, it was definitely worth the trouble!

Did you use regular coax or an HDMI cable?

You just answered the other question I had about routing the new cable. That sounds like a herculean effort.

Naw, it wasn't really that bad, just took a lot of time. I used regular coax (RG6U) because me KVH satellite dome and my DirectTV receiver is not HD. I did leave pull cords behind the cabinets and down the post just in case I ever want to convert to HD.

Thanks. I really, really, really like that configuration and would love to do the same with mine.

Nice Job!

From the title of your original post I thought maybe you had a teenager move out.

Unfortunatly for us we only have the one couch so the TV in front works best for us. Our LED TV doesn't stick out as much as the previous 'bonker' and I padded it so on the very rare occasion I bonk it it doesn't hurt as much.

What hasn't been talked about much is that the whole front windshield opens up too for an awesome view.

Joe and Annette,
Great Job---Your interior decor and color looks identical to mine. Mine is the 38 ft., so no room for dual recliners across from the couch--one only, but I like the "J" Lounger, so put the replacement 32" Visio in the same location as the old RCA (Same old TV as yours was). Similiar to MuddyPaws project.
Maybe Monaco Mama can add this to the Monaco projects/upgrade thread.
Congrats on the great results.

Yeah, that one doesn't hang way down like our old one did.

Joe, I ordered my TV lift yesterday and it should be here by Tuesday. Also picked up all of the audio and vid cables and will start routing them on Monday. I'm keeping the DVD and surround sound and VCR where they are(over the driver in a angled cabinet). We removed the passenger side sofa and installed two Lazy Boy recliners back in the spring. Found a narrow table to fit in between the recliners that match's our cherry cabinets perfectly. Found a candelstick small lamp and velcroed it to the table with no probs after 7,000 mile trip this summer. We've had several comments pertaining to the homey feel. The recliners are safety tethered with the original seat belts that was for the sofa! I'll try and take some pics next week. Thanks again Joe for the inspiration and the shove to get started!
