Ummm, I have been reading this thread and can't help but wonder: Have you had the front-end checked out? We bought a 94 Southwind last month and the drive home was, shall we say, stimulating. I couldn't keep that thing in the middle of the lane on the highway. And it wasn't even windy nor was I being passed by trucks.

Got home, got under the front-end (p30 chassis, fwiw) after doing some research and discovered that the steering stabilizer was shot. Replaced with a Bilstein for $100. Could not believe the difference in drive-ability.

Just my $.02 worth.

Any size diesel pusher will be better. Try to get a Cummins diesel, better quality and more power. A freightliner chassis with Air ride, air brakes, and raised rail chassis. You will love the smooth ride and quiet.

Always was told "once you drive a DP nothing else will do". We purchased an 06 Adventurer gaser used and it handles great! Workhorse chassis and Allison trans. Price and yearly maintenance cost kept me away from DP.

I am sure a DP would be even better, but I moved from a 14 year old Damon Daybreak to a 2012 Newmar Canyon Star 3920 on a Ford 26k lbs F53 chassis. What a difference. I have yet to notice a truck passing me.

I haven't even applied the "cheap fix" talked about in the Ford Chassis forum, but many say that improves it even more.

Since there are no new toy haulers with diesel engines, and the used ones are very hard to fine, gas was the only route I could take, but quite happy with the improvement. (Now just hoping my second engine lasts more than 4k miles.

But, have you ever driven a pusher?

If you like the Flair, why not spend a few $$$ and get some suspension work done on it so that it will handle better. I presume you are on the old P-30 chassis by the age.

You can up grade the shocks, stiffer anti-roll bars and track bars and it will drive a lot better and it is cheaper than a new coach.
