The suspension upgrades

I am looking seriously at a Entegra Vision 27A or a 29S.

These new models are touted to have an upgraded suspension package.

Namely:...E-Z DRIVE™: Computer-balanced driveshaft, jounce bumpers, heavy-duty front and rear stabilizer bars, SACHS shocks

All chatter points to Koni shocks as the best. I am clueless if that is even remotely true. If price is an indicator, Koni is FAR and AWAY a better choice.

But would I be prudent in upgrading a brand new coaches suspension, even if touted as EZ Drive and the above "upgrades".....?
Are the EZ Drive upgrades good to go for over the road easy handling

Your experiences welcome.

You need to get the coach and the VERY FIRST THING.... get it weighed and set the tire pressure to the tire manufacturers chart for your weight.

Once you get the tire pressures set, drive it for a while and see if it really needs any additional upgrades. If you dislike something, like swaying, wandering, rough ride, etc, come back here and describe the issue. You'll get some good advice on how to address that particular problem.

Making wholesale changes without driving it first will be a waste of money.

Most of the EZ drive upgrades are done at Ford or when they lengthen the driveshaft. All F53s get them.

I just bought a 23 FR30DS. Handles fine.

I would think that driving it for a year first before making that sort of decision might be a more reasonable idea. Find out how driving on your favorite routes affect the handling.

That's a brand new design, give it a chance first and please come back and let us know how it goes.

PS My older '02 Winnebago brochure also touted all the handling improvements but it was very nearly the same handling as my '94 Bounder, on the road. All I did with the '94 was add new shocks and that helped a lot. But the Bilsteins as it was too old to justify the expense of Koni.

What helped the handling of this Winnebago the most though, even over installing new Bilsteins on this RV, and made me forget all about any and all running gear upgrades was the simple addition of V-Spoilers. Not only did they profoundly improve the handling, but only cost a couple hundred (though I got mine free). Ad free blog article if you're interested...it's rather long though: V-Spoilers...

There are 3 brands now and come in several colors. Ebay carries one or two of the brands. Improved fuel economy by 5% as well.

The items you list as EZDrive upgrades come standard on all newer F53 chassis. Like Don recommended, don't make any upgrade decisions until you have driven the coach for a while. To his list of suggestions, I would add taking the coach to a good truck chassis shop and getting an alignment done.
