Thinking about getting another A after ...

Well awhile back I bought a used Winnebago Vista A 2013 low mileage from private owner.
I’m so anal about it being perfect after a month I sold it .
It was a 27 ft
Too small .. the shower was tiny , the lines to the levelers was leaking and I had to change , I hated the small fridge , no good place to sit to watch tv,
Storage compartments in basement would get water in them...
I got frustrated and sold it ..
No I’m thinking of a bigger .. 30ft plus .
Just my wife and me and our dog
I learned a lot I think of what to look for .
I’d like a larger shower , chairs or couch for the watching , larger fridge ..
Want a good brand with a roof that I don’t have to worry about leaking etc ..
So ... what brand and where to look ?

Aside from the layout (i.e. leaking hydraulic lines and non leaking roof and the like), I would venture to say not too many RVs fit in that category. I have never known an RV that didn’t need some regular ongoing maintenance to be performed. Try not too hung up on something that needs some work or regular maintenance. It’s just part of having one. Just enjoy the the road trips and the adventure.

If you're looking for something maintenance free, then don't buy an RV. Especially a used one.

If You are thinking a 30 footer will do it... then be looking for 36 to 40'
Know your budget (and add in the extra $10k to $20k needed to make it your own(tires/shocks/updating/upgrading.TV's and Satellite)
For the top of the heap (with the big showers and tank sizes) in your price range, You will be looking at coaches 13 to 25 years old. ( Monoco,Winnibago, Tiffin, Newmar... and possibly a Country Coach, Foretravel or Newell...

Note with the Country Coach/Foretravel/Newell..

With these You should get a true 1 piece fiberglass roof, combo washer/dryer or a stacked unit, larger shower, larger tank sizes, and overall a much better "Build Quality" .. Will have air ride suspension and brakes and auto leveling..(Will "wake up and check for level every 30 minutes or so), plus a Jake or transmission retarder...warning.. they will not have the latest and greatest electronic whizz-bang gizmo's however..
Happy hunting

We have a Tiffin 32SA and it checks all your items.

It's 34 ft so it will work in most state parks. It has a relatively big shower and good seating for TV watching and a large residential refrigerator. Has a fiberglass roof and lots of storage. Materials and quality are very good.

You may be able to find a used one in your target price range.

We had a similar situation; traded a Thor ACE 29.3 for a new Jayco Precept 31UL a year ago. As has been mentioned, expect to address build issues; we did and have had a few, all of which I was able to take care of myself.

For us it hit the sweet spot: 33' long, large shower across from sink/toilet, three slides which open up the interior considerably, residential fridge, fiberglass roof, etc., etc.

Oh, and it's the wife and I with a new rescue pup, and the occasional visit from two grandkids who love the overhead bunk (750 lb. capacity!); we get the kingsize bed in back!

Good luck with the search!
