I have a 34J, and towed my 4k car through the mountains around Grand Canyon North rim, Moab, UT, Northern Arizona and New Mexico and even the entire Scenic Byway 12 in Utah (9000 ft summit, 16% grades, and don't even ask me about the hogsback). We were 45 or so MPH on the steep grades, but we never had heat issues and we had throttle pedal left if we wanted to turn more gasoline into noise and heat.
My folks who have an older Ford V10 chassis (without the 2016 upgraded 6 speed) in a lighter RV had no issue either, but they did slow a bit more on the steepest grades.
On nice flat Texas ground, 65mph yelided about 7.5 - 8mpg, and we could easily crusie at 10mph more than that when we had to.
