Tire Blowout on toad
I had to take my son to to Orlando for Halloween Night in Universial Studios and on the way back around 3 today coming south on the turnpike there was a Dutch Star on the side of the road with the toads drivers side front wheel on the rim.(no rubber left) That must have been very scary. Is there any system to monitor toad tires from the rv ? There was lots of RV's heading south on the turnpike.

Glad you're aboard. There are a number of threads here about TPMS that work for both the RV and the towed. Just use the google window in the tool bar above and leave it set to IRV2. You'll find an afternoon's reading I'm sure. Enjoy your adventures and be safe.

It happened to us in the middle of nowhere in Florida last year. My front pass side toad tire went. The only thing left was the wire belts wrapped around the brake rotor. I am looking into a tms now. It's a great safety factor as long as they don't malfunction. It's like an electric surge protector you think you really don't need it until it's too late I found out about that the hard way also.

When we bought the TireTraker TPMS for the MH we bought 4 extra sensors for the toad. I also installed a "range extender" in the BR closet to be sure we got good signals from the toad.

Same thing happened to our Jeep while towing. We couldn't feel a thing and the rear view monitor doesn't show the tires. We didn't know until someone pulled alongside us with that dreaded arm signal to pull over.
The next day we got the Pressure Pro tire monitors for the motorhome tires and the Jeep's. Never another flat but we feel much more secure now.

TPMS = Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Several excellent brands available, e.g. Pressure Pro, TST, Tire Traker, etc. Most all of them work well these days, so you can pretty much consider them a commodity and choose whichever you like best.
