Have you seen the videos of a tire exploding and what happens to the RV?
Yeah, but it's perfectly centered inside a stamped area. I'd take it to a tire shop that sells that tire and have it inspected, incl dismounting it for inside inspection, and possibly having them contact the mfgr.

I also think is a glue residue from a tag that was on the tire. If I blow it up to 400% you can see where there is some residue that is seperate form most of it. I don't think you would have a tire cut that would fail like that.

This is IMO

A little black shoe polish and that'll buff right out......

Really can't tell much from a picture. If it is indented, then I'd have it checked out ASAP.

I see nothing wrong with this tire. Looks like a sticker area.

Not possible to tell exactly what the issue is from the picture. If it's any sort of sidewall damage - I'd be replacing it. There's stuff you gamble on ... and stuff you don't. Tires are definitely not something you gamble with.

Thanks for the input.

Yes, this mark is in a box. It looks like curb scrape but it's too short for that. No cracks in the tire. The tires are dated 44th week of 2013 so I think they haven't aged out. Tread is wearing evenly. I haven't tried the rubbing alcohol on it but I'm thinking that it may be something leftover from a label. I'm planning on getting it inspected by a Michelin shop.
