Tire mounting cost

Any help with cost for dismount, mount and balance if I buy my 225 70r 19.5 sailun tires from Simple tire? Educated guess will work. South Carolina. Thanks

Hotcap,

Simple Tire can provide you with a list of their affiliated truck tire installers in your area and in most instances...you can have the tires shipped directly to them.

I bought Pirelli tires for my wifes Mini Cooper and Costco near my home was one of their associated installers. I shipped them there and they charged me 20 bucks each for mounting and balancing.

Tire Town in the Myrtle Beach area handles motorhomes and might be on their list of installers.

They replaced all my Good Year tires with Michelin this past March and have the equipment to high speed balance large commercial tires.

Tires When do you replace them? We have a friend who had a blow out on 3 year old Michelin causing tremendous damage to his 2014 Entegra. When I first started reading IRV2 it was acceptable to keep tires 10 years, then 7 and now 5 or 6 years. Makes me think the tire industry is guiding this. Who out there has 10 year or older tires. Lets try this from the reverse. I was parked next to a RVer who owned a 16 year old unit with the original tires.

Hotcap,
While most of us try and be "spend thrift" when, and as often as possible, there are some things that are a given in life. If you own ANYTHING with tires on it, cars, trucks, motorhomes, motorcycles, space ship, (oh, they don't need them do they?) etc., you're gonna need the tires replaced on a periodic basis. And that means, there's associated costs with the tires. Such as mounting and balancing. And, places like Discount tire collect literally millions for their "No questions asked, TIRE WARRANTY damage, if ANYTHING happens to that tire". It is what it is.

If you've been around a while, you've paid those costs in the past, probably many times. The average cost for a car tire probably hovers in the $10-$15 each range, not including Discount Tires "Road Hazard" warranty. For larger tires like our coaches, most likely in the $20-$30 range, for each tire. I just had (6) new Yokohama RY-103 265 75 22.5 LRG tires put on our '04 Horizon for close to $2,500. I didn't worry too much about the mounting costs. They're gonna charge something for the job. Most try and be competitive.

Here where i live tire places charge around 50.00 to do a truck tire and another 20.00 to fix a puncture on it. Thats why i have all my own tire tools and do my own tire service here on the farm. With a little practice and 500.00 worth of tools i've saved tens of thousands in the last 30 years. I can pay the price for 8 tires on semi and have the other two for free mounting them myself.

Around here I see about $10/wheel to mount and another $15 to balance (with Equal), but some shops don't really want to do it for a tire they didn't sell or repair and charge high prices to discourage it. You just have to ask around where you are located.
