Tire Pressure Valve Stems - Question
Good Day - I have a question about adding a 135 or 90 Degree tire pressure valve extensions to my present valve stems.
I would like to add a TPMS to my RV but I have to remove the hubcaps on the wheels to do this and then I'm still not sure I could get the TPMS valve caps on.
Question any problem adding this extensions??
Also if you have added these extensions were there any problems with leakage??
What make of extension should I get so I know I'm betting good quality ones that will not leak air??
Thanks .. Paul

I had braided extenders for years without any problems but always worried about leaks. And many with extenders will tell you they leak or will leak. I finally went with dually stems and never worry now. Kind of pricey BUT no leaks no problems with TPMS. If you can afford it just go with the Dually stems. They only go on the rears. Front stock stems are no problem.

I've got the braided on the rear, and they have worked well for three years.
On the front the hubcaps are in the way if I try to use the goofy little anti-theft things. If I don't use those I can get the EEZtire sensors on if I'm careful and hold my mouth just right.
Pics of rear, but no pics of front.

Had to extend ours about 1.5 inches. Bought them online. Made sure they were tight and have had 20,000 trouble free miles since 2017.

If you need a photo of the front I can get that for you tomorrow. But without the goofy anti-theft covers the senders barely go under the edge of the hubcap. That's the EEZtire sensors.

I don't see a way to include photos in PMs, so I'll just post them here.
One shot is straight on as the valve stem is mounted. I can't get a straight chuck or pressure gauge on it. The other shot is more from the top and shows that you do have room to put a sensor on the stem. I just have a bit of trouble getting two fingers on it, getting it oriented properly, and started without dropping it. If it drops inside the hubcap, luckily the hubcap is easy to remove.
Our system is EEZtire, and the sensors were "anti-theft design." The anti-theft is just a covering that spins if you try to turn the sensor to remove it and takes a tool to reach behind it to remove and install. The sensor can be used without that and is much smaller. I don't think the anti-theft sensor would fit behind this hubcap with trimming the hole larger.

Guess what EdInArk - got my new EezTire TPMS the other day and have noticed they have changed the sensors some - you can no longer separate the sensor from the anti-thief cover. Might not fit on the front wheels without removing the cover or putting on extenders.

The anti-theft covers just unscrewed. I grabbed the back half and front half and just turned them apart. They have to come off, or you couldn't replace the batteries.
Give them a call; they return calls well.
Edit:
The manual shows how to replace the batteries, which includes removing the anti-theft housing.

We had the braided extensions when we bought the couch. Replaced them with the dually stems when we hit new tires and feel much better about deleting a potential leak. We also run the EEZY Tire TPMS and are very happy with that system.

Howdy- I originally went with the braided extenders on the rear duallys but in my case, kept having problems with them coming loose or leaking. I removed them and am going to get the metal dually extenders installed next month when I take it in for an alignment and bearing service. I think they will ultimately be less worry for me. Good luck!
