These Sumitomos are rated for up to 6600 lbs ea.

The Empress tag axle GWR is 10K lbs, and we carry around 7-8K lbs on it.
The drive axle GWR is 23K lbs, and we carry 20-21K on it.

Like Gary said, the Sumitomos are more than adequate.

I just got a quote to replace my original 235/80R 22.5 Michelin XRV's of $3695.00. Sounds like I could do better.

I've called around 1/2 dozen shops needing 6 235/80R22.5 XRV and some people quote, but pin them down and they say on back order.

Ask them to check on back order, and come to find out that Michland has discontinued the whole XRV line.

And, I just bought one 3 months ago. I don't want to mix brands, so I'll be looking at this site for opinions & I know everybody has one - on what to go with.

I'll need to look up my axle weights first off, before I start calling around for other brands. Michland has a XZE tire which they say will replace the XRV, but it is bigger in diameter. Don't want to run as a part of a dual, and I don't know if I really want two different sizes on my steering pair up front, so now I guess I have to do a whole lot more research.

That would be Michelin! You do not need to look up anything. What you need to do is take your unit to scale and get the axle weights. Individual wheel weights are better but hard to find the right scale. Michelin is still showing the XRV so I would call their hotline and ask if they are discontinued. If you do a search of this site and a few others you will find the substitute size for those XRV's. Michelin is the only mfr. that makes those oddball sizes.

I just replaced 6 mich XRV 255 80 22.5 from Les Schwab Tires. 650 each or 3900 out the door with siping. Only other tire this size seemed to be continental. No word of discontinuing, though there was indication of a recent price increase.

WOW, that's a high price!
In Sept of 2010 I bought 4 275/70 22.5's and 2 305/70 22.5's. Out the door with fronts balanced was just over $3,200.
