Tire question

Thought I would ask the people I respect the most, fellow Rv'ers. I have a 2006 Nemar Mountain Aire that has Michelin XRV 305/70/22.5 tires. They have a load rating of 7830 lbs for a single tire. I was wondering if any of you can steer (no pun intended) me in a direction for tires. Yes, this is a good tire but the cost is out of site even with the FMCA deal.
Have any of you had this size and went to a different size like 295/80/22.5?
Any input would be appreciated. Thank you

The only one that manufacturers 305/70's in Michelin although Continental had them listed. This was about 2 years ago when I put the 305's on the front of our DSDP. The Continentals weren't even being produced yet.
The 295/80's are over 2" larger and wouldn't fit out wheelwells, leaving the 305's as my only choice as we needed the add'l capacity they gave us.
Our unit came with a 12,000# front axle but it was overweight so Newmar had Spartan replace it with the 14,600# unit.

For a Michelin the FMCA Program seems to be the best deal around.
You can always try Good Year , Goodrich or Chineese.

Continental still shows that size in their HSU-1 model. You might ask around for it and get a price. Goodyear also makes it, but it's in a tire designed for metro (city) transport buses and probably not a good choice for a motorhome if you do much highway driving.

I'm sure you mean "Newmar" Mountain Aire! Do you have a DP or a gasser? Us Newmar owners are a serious bunch.

To keep things simple, practical, and cost effective, I run Double Coin 11R22.5's all around. I run the 150R steer tire.

Plenty of info on these on the Net.
