The concern is that the other tire of the pair was drastically overloaded when the other failed. Maybe not for long, but conceivably was overstressed. Also, the new, unworn, tire may be notably larger in diameter than the other one which has its tread worn down to some degree. Tire experts say that there should be less than 0.5" difference in the diamters of a dual-pair.Last, but not least, the roadside service wanted to sell you two tires instead of one, probably at list price (or even higher).
Have a Toyo dealer inspect the tire inside and out for damage and ask him to get the Toyo reps opinion on using it after the incident. I'm guessing it will be ok.
