Tire Warrarnty

Sometimes, usually in connection with a discussion about an extended service contract, I find mention of a 'tire warranty'. In my wanderings, I've seen 'tire warranty' that will cover a road hazard but EXCLUDES a 'blowout' and of course any consequential damage. Does anyone know of a tire warranty that covers a blowout and the subsequent damage that such an event can cause?

Sure, I'd be glad to sell you such a warranty! However, to cover my costs, it's about $3000 per tire. A blow out can and usually is caused by something outside the tire manufacturer's control; usually tire damage from running under-inflated due to a leak or neglect. And then the consequential damage to the rig of unknown value, a TT, a 5er, a Class C or a big beautiful Beaver Patriot, which may or may not have existed before the blowout leaves more uncertainty that must be covered by dead presidents, lots of dead presidents.

No, your best insurance for a blowout is a good Tire Pressure Monitoring System.

Your Rvs collision and comprehensive insurance should pays for damage done to the RV body when a tire blow-out occurs. Less any deductible, of course. Tire itself may be covered too, if the tire damage was caused by striking an object in the road. However, tires are considered a wear & tear item, so value would be pro-rated.

You may want to give Coach-Net a call they have a tire hazard program that covers your tire and rim. If I am not mistaken it covers both flats and blow outs. I have it but luckily have not used it.
