Tires - Load Range F or G

We will be buying six tires soon and I am considering the Firestone FS561. They are available in both load range F or G (245x70r19.5). Our rig GVWR is only 18,000. I have not weighed each corner yet but most likely the load range F would be fine. Is there any advantage/disadvantage of getting the heavier load range G tire? Thanks.

What is the load rating in lbs per tire? No need to go crazy overkill but I always like my tires to be the heaviest load rating, followed by axles.
Less plies-smoother ride.

Advantage is having a tire with more load capacity. Disadvantage is possibility a little rougher ride although I have went from a F to G on a previous RV and could not tell the difference in ride. You would still set your tire pressure to the load inflation chart for the tire either way.

I went with higher capacity tires and my backside is not sensitive enough to tell any difference. Having the extra capacity is an additional safety margin which is always a good thing. It could help the tire survive in the event of hitting road debris or pot holes.

As is often the case, more is sometimes a bit better but only if not taken to extremes. If LR F has plenty of capacity margin for your specific tire loads, increasing to LR G just costs extra and maybe rides a tiny bit harsher. The important thing is that you are only going to inflate the tire for the actual load anyway, and the F &G both carry the same load at the same pis. The G rated tire can be inflated higher & thus carry more load, but you probably aren't going to do that unless the F-rating is already at its upper limit.

Other than that, the G-rated tire will have slightly stronger sidewalls to contain the extra psi. It's conceivable that might help if there is damage from a pothole or curb. It's also what can cause a slightly harsher ride, but you probably won't notice it.
