Question Tires? Tires? Tires?

I am currently located in the upper North East between Ogdensburg and Buffalo. I have a 2007 Travel Supreme Envoy DP (LOVE IT) with Michelin 275/80 R22.5 XZA3. I want to get my tires checked and possibly replaced, they look great, no check marks or cracks on the side walls but they are 7 1/2 years old. I cant seem to locate anyplace localy (within 100 miles) where I can take it and get an evaluation or quote other than Camping (take out a loan) World. I will be heading to KC through Chicago in a couple of months any reccomendations will be appreciated.

Not sure if you're a Costco member, others have bought the tires there and had the mounted at a truck tire shop. Also if you are a member of FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association) they have a very good discount program on Michelins. Best of luck in your search. I'm sure others will chime in.

Just purchased 6 new Michelins through the FMCA's Advantage program. Saved over $100 per tire.
Check with Michelins TCI stores for availability. Some sizes are hard to get.
Good luck

Hello I can tell u I switched to the Hercules 601 and I'm very happy. These tires ride as good or even better then the Michelin tires and we're half the price. The Michelin tires are way over priced even with the fmca discount.

On my way to Alaska now with 6 new Hercules 904's, had them installed last November, very happy with the ride. Traveled about 3,000 miles so far.

I have always liked Michelin's and have never had an issue with them. I rarely consider price when shopping for tires, but many do. I won't need new tires for another two years when they will be six years old and have about 65,000 miles on them. Assuming that I do not have a problem in that time, I will replace them with another set of the same. They will probably cost about $1800 more than some cheaper brand. That amounts to $300 per year or 2.7 cents per mile. That's a price I'm willing to pay for peace of mind.

P.S. For someone that only gets 30-40,000 miles in 6 years, any brand should serve them well.

At 7 1/2 years of age, I would be replacing them regardless of how they look. You have a beautiful heavy rig and a blowout could cause extensive damage.

Any Les Schwabs in the east or Midwest?

I've changed my plan from my my previous post from June of 2017. In June of 2018 I replaced all eight Michelins with 295/80/22.5 Toyo M144's. 12,000 miles later, I'm very pleased with the ride and easy handling. I saved $2500 over the FMCA discount and will never go back to overpriced Michelins.

I prefer Toyo also . You might try buying the tres you prefer online I saved a fair amount this way but make sure they give you the dot numbers so you don’t buy old tires.
