Towing Assistance Insurance Companies
Hello,
I bought a Class A RV in 2020 with an extended warranty that includes towing, which is about to expire. Though I have a Progressive insurance coverage for the basics and received a towing quote from them, I'm seeking recommendations from other Class A RV owners about other towing insurance companies they use. I have done some Google searches and found others, but would like to have your feedback on the ones you've used (Pros & Cons).
Many thanks!
Eugene

On our previous rig, we had Roadside Assistance through FMCA. Had to use them once but wasn’t exactly impressed. As we later learned, they are at the mercy of the tow company.
Based on advice here and other forums, we switched to Coach-Net. They were the better option with what they promised/provide.
My guess is the bulk of replies will be CN.

I had, and still have, Progressive when I had to have my MH towed. They were most helpful getting the service request initiated, and followed up with us. Unless the insurance company has their own nationwide tow truck operation I suspect they are all dependent on what tow companies and what equipment they have are in a given area.
As my new mh is built on a Ford chassis, I'm also covered by Ford.

Coach-Net for sure. The plans also cover your other vehicles and immediate family. They also offer technical support, help locate services etc. Years ago when I had a tire blow out on I95 in Georgia, they located a truck stop that had a replacement wheel, another that had a replacement tire and towed me to get both. It was about 4am when we got the store that had the tire. The made arrangements to have the bay door open, backed the motorhome in, and set it down on jackstands. When the shop opened in the morning everything was set for them to replace the tire and wheel and inspect that nothing else was damaged and that it was safe to drive.

+ 1 Coach Net
Unlimited towing included. End of argument. Please year 2 the price goes down. Even when I am not traveling actively, I keep Coach Net.

Unless a specific roadside assistance plan has their own tow trucks, most will have the same access to whatever towing companies are available in any given area. As we have Progressive to insure our class A we added their roadside service as well. Can't speak on other roadside assistance providers but Progressive did get a capable tow truck to haul our 40' motorcoach in a timely matter, we did try to call local towing companies directly and could not get anyone to come any faster.
Just like anything in life, even companies that everybody says are the best often are subject to provide less than stellar service due to unforeseen circumstances. Towing a car or truck usually takes an hour or less, but for these large motorhomes only a handful of towing services can provide the proper equipment and skilled personnel trained to perform this service. With limited resources in any given area most MH owners can anticipate a few hours before a capable tow service arrives.
The single time we required towing in the 5 years of owning our motorcoach, the driver and his helper had to fully disengage the drive shaft and remove full width rear mudflap among other processes that need to be performed to safely tow our class A, which was all done while stranded along the craziness known as I-40. Thankfully, we were about 50 miles from home and we had our class A towed there, I was able to diagnose and wait for parts to arrive, our coach was back in business a week later.

Good choice. I had an electrical problem last year, and a Coach Net tech advisor spent 2 hours on the phone and texting back forth to help solve my problem.

Shortly after owning my first coach the crankshaft sensor went out. It came to a slow enough stop that I was able to get it to the side of the road. I called 911 and the operator got me a tow and I was off the road in less than an hour. The best part was it was only 5-600 dollars for the tow. I was lucky that time. I don't imagine it could happen again, the cheap tow I mean.
