Towing capacity of 1984 Holiday Rambler Imperial 33
I'm looking to purchase a 1984 Holiday Rambler Imperial 33 foot motorhome and was wondering if anyone knew what the towing capacity is? The factory doesn't have records back that far, so I'm kinda at a loss unless someone happens to have the information.

Thank you for the information. Would it make a difference that the MH has a TAG axle, or is there a way to safely increase that to 7500 lbs ? We have 7500 lbs enclosed utility trailer that we tow our toys around in.
The placard by the drivers seat may give you some information on GCVWR ( total weight of coach and towed) and also GVWR ( total weight of coach only).
Now the hitch may only be rated for 5000lbs, or it may be higher.
The hitch may be changed to a higher rated one if you have the room with the GCVWR. I had a custom one built for my bus to handle my 24' enclosed trailer.
My loaded weights with trailer put me about 500 to 1000lbs under my GCVWR.

I had a 94 HR Endeavor 36 feet with a tag. We towed a Saturn behind us which was 3300# and we used a BrakeBuddy System for supplemental braking . We were able to keep under the GCVWR, however, we found that we had brake issues on the coach , on a regular basis. The hitch was a 5000#er which we had no problems with. The chassis was a Ford F53 which they added the Morryde tag to. The issues were all with the Chassis which I believe was overloaded, even though it was within the weight limits
