Response to Post 27 (One of my biggest frustrations with IRV)
I've read much more here than I've posted and have learned much more than I've paid for. All the posts on irv2 are opinions so we all need to do some homework before we follow any advice here, or anywhere on the internet.

My 32 ft country coach has an 8.3 isc Cummins and 10 k hitch. A 2003 would have an isc 1250 pounds of torque in a 32 ft.

I can't believe that no one has brought up the fact of using your RV to put a boat in the water! Unless you are continually going to use a known, RV accommodating boat launch ramp (meaning you have personally witnessed it done, or have done it), I think that prospect is completely nuts! Or are you planning on having it fork lifted into the water? That a lot of money to gamble with at a boat ramp. If you actually pull this off, please upload some video of your RV putting the boat in and pulling it out. I would love to see that!

For someone who know's very little about towing stuff, other than my tiny toad w/a gas rv, can you explain if there are any issues with weight besides the engine size & the weight rating of the towing package? In other words, how does the rv'er balance, or does he have to balance, the gross combined vehicle weight rating for his rv with what he plans to tow behind him? Thanks for the explanation in advance!

I am curious why you would think this would be an issue as I have thought about launching a boat with an RV myself. I am not being a wiseguy but want to know what to look for if I attempt this and what are the dangers.

I towed a 32 footer all over the southeast with our coach also launched and took it out with the coach. No such thing as an rv designated boat ramp, used the same ramps as everyone else. Never a problem

Boat ramps can vary. I launched a Bass boat at Lake of the Ozarks with our first MH, a 34' Southwind gasser. It was fairly steep getting to the ramp. The launch went ok, but I refused to back in to pull the boat out a week later. I hired a guy with a pickup to do it.

I've personally never done this and in part it might depend upon the length of your coach due to ramp maneuvering issues. But I have seen people with hitches on the front and back of their coaches which seems to work nicely. They unhook the boat at a convenient spot, turn around and simply reattach to the front hitch and drive it into the water. Not so sure I'd want to use a big coach on a steep ramp though.

My concern = if you get your pick-up stuck @ the ramp, you can probably find some teenage girl, w/winch on her Jeep, to pull you out. Seen it. If you get your motorhome jammed-up, you’ll be calling a $200-just-to-show-up diesel wrecker.
