You can't say that about Michelins. The sidewalls crack up on Michelins worse than any tires I know of. A passenger tire Michelin on my wife's truck had some sidewall cracks I took to be about normal for the brand until they starting leaking air. Took me a while to find the leak as I kept expecting a nail in the tread or something. Kind of put me off Michelins. Not that I cared so much for them to start with. I have no complaints about any Toyos I've had and some are on my coach now.

Replaced the aging tires of our new (to us) Georgie Boy with 6 Toyo M154. What a difference! Smoother ride and overall good tires. Highly recommended.

Agree, we removed the Michelins in 2002. Since then Toyo and Bridgestone. Great tires and ride better than the Michelins.

I have now replaced two sets of Michelins with Toyo tires and Have been very pleased both times.
My last motorhome (93 Navigator) had Michelin’s on it when I bought it. Replaced with Toyo M144s. Night and day difference. So when my New-to-me 03 Magna needed new tires, I also replaced the Michelin’s with Toyo M144As.
They’re quiet, roll smooth, balance well, and wear evenly. I also believe they handle expansion joints better than the Michelins.
The down side, they do smell when they are new and hot. Some sort of out-gassing. Some folks say it smells like urine. I would characterize it as a rubber/chemical solvent smell. So when new. . . And you roll in off the road, you’ll smell them for a couple hours until they cool down. Eventually, this out-gassing goes away altogether.
In summary, I think Toyo is the best bang for the buck going. At least that’s been my experience.

Our M154's are made in Japan and they emanated a certain whiff right after installing them. I wouldn't say it was a stink, but rather a slightly sulphured rubber compound scent. After our first trip with them on, the scent was gone.

You didn't say if you have a Class-A, B or C.
TOYO have been around for a number of years in Passenger to Heavy Truck sizes. I do not recall hearing of any specific problems.
Only negative might be the number of outlets that carry that brand in the area of the country where you travel.

I replaced my Michelins with six Toyos and two Continentals. Had a little bit of a tire odor, but not bad.

My last two complete sets have been Toyo's. The first were M-144 and now I am riding on M-154 and both have been really good smooth riding tires. The original tires were Michelins and they lasted exactly five years then they started cracking on the side walls real bad. But they never blew up even though at that time they were having lots of blowouts on the XRV tires.
But in my opinion and experience with both, Toyo's 154 are excellent.

Original tires were Michelin. 6 years and 75K miles later the sidewall cracks were starting to scare me. Except for when on the road, coach was/is always stored undercover or inside. I also went for the Toyo M154, 8 tires at considerable savings over replacement Michelin, even with FMCA discount. 35K miles later still happy with the Toyos. I should note that I've raced on Toyos and have Toyos on both my Ford Expedition and F250 so no stranger to them. Excellent tires.
If you are anywhere near the Pacific NW, Les Schwab tire dealers carry Toyos and if you can buy in Oregon, no sales tax!

I have a 40ft Itasca Horizon. 5 years on Toyo's. They were still great tires, lots of tread left, no cracks. Bought a new set of (6) in Texas for $2,800. I been driving them for 4 additional years. I'm a full timer the last 10 years. These tires have been great. I do cover them when we stay somewhere over a week. I average 6,000+ miles per year.

I have 7 years and 40,000 miles on my Toyo's and couldn't be happier. I am replacing them 2 per year with new Toyo's.
