Toyo versus Sumitomo, $234 total price difference
I'm looking at Motorhometires.com and I can either go with Toyo at $2882 intalled at my home or Sumitomo at $2648. Set of 6, 245/75R/22.5 They will come to my home and mount, balance and install. They also dispose of the old tires. So, my question is, is the price difference important? Which tire is better, same or inferior? Thanks for any and all advice. Any experience on that company will also be appreciated.

As to the question of tire quality they are the same. The question is are you being quoted prices for the same load rating. Both should be a load rating H.

In the ad, one says G rating and the other says 16/32 tread depth. So, if I'm reading you right, I'm not getting the right load rating? I'll have to research that.

Simple Tire has the Sumitomo 719 for $1697 with free shipping for 6 tires. That means you will pay $950 to have 6 tires installed and balanced. that seems a little pricey to me. To answer your question I don't think you can go wrong with either brand tire.

They don't seem to have my size in Sumitomo for anywhere near that price. Can you give me some idea where you found them?

The company I'm quoting from is Simpletire.com. They show the Sumitomo ST 719 in size 245/75 x 22.5 (the size you listed in your original post) for $282.96 each for a total of $1697.76 for six. This price is free shipping but does NOT include installation. I'm on the east coast but I checked your zip code and price is the same.

I recently bought 6 Sumitomo tires from Big O Tires for $2400... included mounting and balancing. My tire size is 275/75R22.5. Did prior research and determined Sumitomo tires are comparable to all other quality tires on the market.

Tread depth has nothing to do with load range.
From what I can see in their specs, the Sumitomo only comes in LR G, while the Toyo can be had in either G or H. It only makes a difference if you need LR H. There is no reason to pay for LR H if you don't need the extra capacity.
The Sumitomo is an excellent tire, so I'd take the lower price unless the Toyo is an LR H and you need the extra weight rating.

My 34' Dolphin came to me with two-year old Sumitomos on it. 18 months later they seem to be working fine, though I have nothing else to compare them to on this coach.

Forgot to mention that the Sumitomos on my moho were made in Japan.

FYI I kept and sold my old tires. Put the 6 on Craigslist in Spokane WA sold to a fellow in Reno NV. He paid for shipping. Well worth the time. $$$

Our 42 foot TourMaster has Sumitomo's on it. 1 year later they are working just great for the coach. Got them at our local Big O tires at a good price then.

Don't forget to get steer tires for the front and drive tires for the rear. Mine came to me with drive tires all around and I didn't realize until recently that there was even a difference. "All-position" tires are available too.
