TPMS for triaxle 8wheeler

Folks,

do you use TPMS?

my experience is it annoys me. But then on duallies you probably wont notice low pressure until your stuck with a blown tire. And that's usually costly on an RV, considering all the flimsy fiberglass wheel covers.

so if you have one, did you go with an 800 bucks 8-wheel system or did you elect to not monitor all the wheels or did you go with 2 25 bucks aftermarket car systems and does it actually work?

thanks for your insights.

I went w/the TireMinder A1AS. This one comes w/10 sensors and I bought 2 more for a total of 12 (coach + TOAD). Fast forward to 8:25 of the video.

Good luck

I bought the TST 507. You can get as many sensors as you need with it.

I have had a TST 507 in both of my coaches. They work great and the newer one is a big improvement over the 2012 version that I had. Also, the new cap type sensors use a 2032 coin battery (available ANYWHERE).

It also allows you to have different trailers (your toad is the trailer) so that you can set it up for running with or without it at the touch of a button. I am actually thinking of getting the newer 707 display as it is touchscreen and a little bit larger.

I tried the cheaper ones and they work ok but not reliable enough and don't last. TST507 w/10 sensors has worked well for me for years. I do have to replace a sensor every couple of years but as you said the cost of a blowout makes it worth investing in good monitoring equipment and it has saved me more than once.

Been using the TST system (currently a 770 touch monitor with 8 flow thrus) for 12 years now & it's never let me down & saved me a real bad day the 1st season I had it with a tire going down on my motorcycle trailer 40' behind my coach. Had I not had it I would've never known there was an issue.

Hey Groveln, is it worth the upgrade to the 770 monitor? I have the color 507 unit.

I say yes...it's a BIGGER screen & touch control...I started with the 510...then 507 & was cruising Ebay one day in the winter of 2023 & saw the 770 & had no idea TST even offered it since I went to their site & it wasn't there it was so new. I couldn't pass up the price of $127.99 delivered!

you guys are talking about this one. right?

https://tsttruck.com/770-series-4-rv...-repeater.html

at 127 i wouldn't wast a second thought, but they ask ober 600 for it....

digging deeper, i discovered that the expensive part is the tire sensor...

so those of you that have it, do other brand sensors work as well or are they brand spzific?

We picked up a 10 senor TPMS about 5 years ago choosing from the dozens of offerings available on Amazon. The prior owners of our coach never installed a TPMS, and after we purchased our motorcoach with aged out tires we decided to get a PSI monitor for our newly installed Toyo tires.

After performing a bit of my own research, and reading through reviews of both high dollar systems and their knockoffs, as they're all manufactured in Asia anyway, we chose a TPMS at a fraction of the cost of he branded versions. Love that display shows all tire pressures at the same time.

Very accurate and never any false alarms or bad sensors requiring replacement, nearly 5 years still has batteries that came stock with unit. Came with a range extender but never had to use it as it easily monitors our 40' motorcoach tires along with the GMC Terrain tires we tow behind our class A.

I also use the TST TPMS. I have a tag axle coach and tow a truck. You really want to know what the toad is doing too. I run 12 sensors. Its initially expensive, but the piece of mind is worth it. When you fire up in the morning, you can simply look at the screen and see if all the tires are inflated properly.

ive found them too, but a sensor is $50 so a bare display should be somewhere around $150, the $100 doesn't come with accessories... so no good offer on the market considering i need 14 sensors we are talking $800+...

a 4/6 wheel china unit comes at 30$..
and an 8 wheel unit is $50

well, i do like the implementation of the TST...

and i like that you guys are really happy with it.

but is it worth spending 10 time the money....?

i shot TST a question regarding non TST sensors. I'll report about their answers.

in the meantime ive found this:

https://www.hackster.io/jsmsolns/ard...display-b6e544

but then, i want it fire and forget...

i probably need some time to accept to have to shell out more money for a tpms system than for the leading cutting edge 360 bird view system.

@sandiaman, what type and brand are u using?
