hi everyone, i have a 2012 sunstar i purchased in may and am really not happy with it. i am looking at purchasing an allegro 32ca from reines in virginia. i know i am going to take a hit but the tiffin seems so much better built. i have had some problems with my sunstar , convection microwave that is subpar unheard of model that comes with next to no instructions and itasca can give us no help with it, electrical energy management system that turns off all the tvs when the ac comes on, and the last thing was when we went to richmond for the nascar race and the generator would not start, seemed to be a bad spot in the starter which i finially got to start and worked all weekend after that. when i took it back to the dealer they said it started all the time for them so they would not evan take anything apart to check connection, ect. my main reason for writing is are the tiffin allegros that much more well made? thanks

IMHO yes! I am not a Tiffin owner,however after spending a great deal of time on this forum consensus is: Tiffin is a very reputable co. Allegro bus is a fine product. Owners like them! All manufactures have QC issues seems Tiffin backs their product. Research your selling dealer, endorsements etc, does his business have adequate techs to service warranty problems? Sorry for all your troubles, you will have some more with a new bus but most likely not as many and you will have the problems solved. Remember we, DW and I are not Tiffin owners but spend a lot of time on the road talking with fellow RV'ers. Have fun life is short!

We bought an Allegro Bay new in 2007 and have used it for 5-6 months per year since. We have been extremely pleased with ours. Through the years we have had some OEM issues, an AC needed repair, convertor/inverter board, some issues with Weatherpro awning, and the Bosch brake issue (we have a FRED on Freightliner chassis). We have had no fit/finish issues with our unit. If you decide to purchase a Tiffin, I hope you are as satisfied as we are.

The answers will of course vary but I will guarentee you that IF you have problems with your Tiffin you will get assistance to correct it to your satisfaction.Tiffin may not have the best "Quality Control" but their Customer Service is top shelf. Be sure to check out ANY dealers service department before you buy !

You might want to join TRVN and do some research there.
Have no dog in your hunt but seen to remember a lot of negative posts about your dealer.
Just trying to give you a heads up.
Again, have had no dealings with them.

I have a 2011 Vista 35F which is the same thing as a Sunstar. I bought it new and you would not believe the problems I have had with it. I tried to trade it in also but the loss was greater than I was willing to take. It sits in my driveway while I pray for a lightning strike. When I think that I traded my Dutchstar in on this piece of junk I could just cry.

We have a 32CA that we bought from Reines as well. Picked it up in early July and so far, no surprises. We've also have been on the road with it for the last month and a half.

It sounds like the problems you have had with the coach are vendor related and not with the basic systems. Frankly, this can happen with any of them. Tiffin is, however, pretty responsive if you have problems and will do just about anything to get them resolved. The factory service guys are easily reachable by phone and can talk you through problems better than most. It would be helpful to you to join the Tiffin RV Network - this is an owner run forum that you can get answers to just about any technical problem you can imagine.

We are also thinking about an Allegro 32CA. This will be our first motor home. I've been looking for about two-months seriously and I have to say that looking for a MH can be frustrating. The dealers we have been dealing with have been a tad more interested in selling us a coach then hearing what we are looking for in a coach.

We're at the point of choosing a dealer somewhere in the Southwest and ordering a coach.

well i did it ordered a new 32ca from a local dealer rather th from 300 miles away. i talked to a gentleman at tiffen and he said it would probably be better to purchase locally as i would get prefered treatment locally rather than if i purchased from another dealer and being in bussiness myself before i can understand that. i really took a beating on my sunstar to the tune of $20,000 so i hope i am making the right decision, and after hearing from some of you on this board i believe i am.

OK, now that you ordered it, did you opt for the heat pump and the larger generator? If not, call them back and add it to your order. The Onan 7000 will run a few more things than just the two air conditioners whereas the 5500 will barely run the two AC units. The heat pump save a bunch of propane as well.
