trailer brake controller

We have a 2004 Damon Escaper and would like to hook up a trailer brake controller to pull a trailer behind the motor home. It has electric brakes on trailer and air brakes on the coach. Please advise if anyone knows how to do this. Thank you

I went with the PS3 brake controller, don't know if your coach is on a freightliner if so starting in 04, they have an electric brake controller plug, by the steering colum. Just need the addepter plug to controller for about $15.00 Or you could hard wire it.

Do you have the manual? It should list how to hook it up as well

Good luck

X2 on the Freightliner chassis, I dug around above the steering column and found the wiring bundle for the electric brake controller. I hard wired it.

I emailed Freightliner, asked for a wire schematic and got a quick response.

Welcome to iRV2!

An eBay seller offers a harness that plugs into a post-2003 Freightliner brake controller connector. Here is a link to the eBay listing. The description has useful information on pinouts and such.

I believe that a Spartan chassis was an option for your coach. If it has a Spartan chassis, please let us know.

The Tekonsha P3 is a popular trailer electric brake controller. A link to the product page on etrailer is here.
