Transfer switch?

Hi, all. I have a 95 Holiday Rambler Vacationer. When plugged in to shore power, everything works and runs as expected. When I turn on the generator, lights will come on, thermostat comes on and even the rear ac will work, but the front ac, microwave and fridge will not. What am I missing?

Turn the on-generator breakers OFF and then back ON.

If that doesn't do it, open the ATS and check that connections are clean, tight and no burned wires.

To reset a breaker that has tripped, or you suspect might be tripped, you have to forcefully push the switch to OFF, then turn the breaker ON.

A lot of folks are not familiar with how to reset a tripped breaker - so I thought I'd embellish Wolfe 10's solution and stress that force is required to reset the mechanism inside the breaker.

Generator has 2 outputs. If breakers are fine, find the junction box where the generator wires meet the RV wires, back near the generator. Open that and look for burnt wires or loose connections.

If all good, next stop is the automatic transfer switch. Find that, open cover and check connections.

Transfer switch?

My guess is one leg is not getting power from the genny. Most likely the ATS since on shore power it works.

That’s if you have a 50amp coach.
