The EC30 has a transformer plugged into a 110v outlet that is suppose to monitor incoming shore power to the coach. If shore power is lost, the generator would then start as needed based on requirements, A/C or low battery voltage, for instance. The 110v outlet should be wired to the incoming shore power side of the transfer switch since this is when you would need the AGS to activate. But, on my Fleetwood Excursion power to the receptacle came from the the breaker box which is after the transfer switch. What would happen is the EC30 would sense the need for the generator to start based on A/C or low batteries which would start the generator. Since the power from the generator would feed the breaker box, EC30 thinks that shore power has been restored, thereby shutting down the generator. This would continue to repeat every 15 minutes or so. At first, I didn't know what was causing the problem so didn't use the AGS. Once I learned how the EC30 got the data of why the generator needed to start, I located the transformer and unplugged it from the receptacle. That corrected my issue with the generator starting and stopping. Now, if you have pets or other reasons that you need to maintain the temperature in the RV, then this wouldn't work if you lost shore power. But, since we don't have any issues like these just unplugging the transformer worked for us.
