Transfer Switch shuts off Generator

I have the Onan Command 30 auto start system on my 2020 holiday Rambler 29m with a 5500 ONAN generator. There is a Surge guard 40100 transfer switch that is attached.
My issue is that when the batteries start to run low the Auto start tells the generator to start. The generator runs for a few seconds and it appears that when the power transfer is engaged the generator shuts down. I can start and run the generator manually with no issues with the transfer of power. Any thoughts as to where to look for the issues? There is no warranty on the unit.

i'm not an expert. this is just a guess.

i'm assuming shore power is not present as it would not autostart if it was present. the onan needs 12 volt power to run. could it be that the batteries are so low that they cannot provide the required 12 volt power to keep the generator running? can you raise the low battery voltage so the autostart happens when the batteries still have power in them.

again just a guess!

The EC30 has a transformer plugged into a 110v outlet that is suppose to monitor incoming shore power to the coach. If shore power is lost, the generator would then start as needed based on requirements, A/C or low battery voltage, for instance. The 110v outlet should be wired to the incoming shore power side of the transfer switch since this is when you would need the AGS to activate. But, on my Fleetwood Excursion power to the receptacle came from the the breaker box which is after the transfer switch. What would happen is the EC30 would sense the need for the generator to start based on A/C or low batteries which would start the generator. Since the power from the generator would feed the breaker box, EC30 thinks that shore power has been restored, thereby shutting down the generator. This would continue to repeat every 15 minutes or so. At first, I didn't know what was causing the problem so didn't use the AGS. Once I learned how the EC30 got the data of why the generator needed to start, I located the transformer and unplugged it from the receptacle. That corrected my issue with the generator starting and stopping. Now, if you have pets or other reasons that you need to maintain the temperature in the RV, then this wouldn't work if you lost shore power. But, since we don't have any issues like these just unplugging the transformer worked for us.

The response about transformer makes sense. Where was the EC30 transformer located on your rig? I call the service number about the issue and they said bring it down (4 hours drive) and we will be glad to try to figure it out at 150 bucks an hour. I am like..I can buy all new components for 2 hours of trying to figure out and start from scratch will all new items. I ma thinking this may be the reason I got a really good deal on a 2020 rig.

I am able to manually start and run the generator with the supplied battery power. I think it has something to do with transfer switch or sensing the the battery charge level. The manual for the Command 30 is terrible in my opinion.

Agreed. The manual does leave a lot to be desired. The receptacle in my Fleetwood was underneath the kitchen cabinets mounted to the floor. I had to remove a bottom drawer to access. If you can get the 120v schematics from your coach builder, it might show the general area of where it is located. I will say that mine is not anywhere near the Command 30 which is mounted over the entrance door. I've attached the schematic for my unit and circled the AGS receptacle. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the update. I will try to get schematics from Holiday Rambler to see if I can track down my issues. Everything else is great other than the one issue. It is a main concern as I will be boon-docking a good portion of the time.
