transmission problem

p 32 workhorse will transmission go into gear if jack s are down. I had been cycling jacks now transmission will not go into gear..shifter will move to any position with out depressing brake pedal. but no movement

Sounds like a part in the steering column has broken... This happened to me in my jeep once.
