Traveling with a 5 yr old

We are taking our granddaughter on a trip with our class A which has a couch on road side behind driver's seat with seat belts. And of course co-pilot seat. She is is under 40 lbs so uses a front facing car seat. Where is a good place for her to ride?

We ride our grandkids (4 and 6) in the side-facing couch and opposite chair. We still use the car seats even though the are only certified for front facing only. We figure it has to be better than nothing.

We usually put ours 5 year old granddaughter in the dinette booth facing forward, or co-pilot seat with the car seat booster. Either way she keeps the DW running!

Now try it with with five from 1 1/2 to 12! Now that is interesting-sorta. Made me give up the idea of driving a school bus for retirement income. Fifteen miles from the destination I remembered I could turn off the hearing aids.

We've traveled with my 3 yo grandson and put the car seat in the dinette seat facing forward. Lowered the table so no chance of pinning his legs and had tv which is on an electric swivil faced toward him and plugged into a different outlet to play his movies and stuff. He was a happy little camper. Had his own big window to look out and pull shades down if he wanted to sleep. He also used his tablet to play some of his games. He knows more about the tablet at 3 than i did computers at 30 or my smart phone at 60.
